Statistics New Zealand is now undertaking public consultation on refreshing the Standard Classification for Religious Affiliation to better reflect contemporary New Zealand society. You are invited to make comment recognising that Statistics New Zealand has already been considering the inclusion of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

The public consultation is being undertaken to get a wider understanding of issues for Statistics New Zealand to consider in finalising the content of the classification.
